. . . made possible. . .
It is through a grant from Institution for Savings that our website has been made possible.

Salisbury Historical Society is grateful for the generous grant awarded by Mass Cultural Council as part of its "Festivals & Projects 2025" program. We also have been promised a reimbursement grant from Salisbury Cultural Council. Both assured the execution of our "Scenes of Salisbury Traveling Quilt Show" in 2025.

Operational support has also been provided through a grant from Newburyport Bank.

. . . grateful also. . .
The Salisbury Historical Society was awarded a Strategic Assessment grant made possible through the Massachusetts State Historic Records Advisory Board (MA SHRAB) and the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC) grant program. The Society is participating in the MA SHRAB Roving Archivist Program which connects historical records stewards with a trained professional archivist. On March 19, 2024, archivist Thomas Doyle visited the Salisbury Historical Society's house at 16 Elm Street. Mr. Doyle met with several members of the Society and discussed the archives of the Society, stressing the importance of collection development policies, disaster planning, and preservation. Following the discussion, a tour of the house was conducted with emphasis on the archives. A report soon followed with a list of recommendations. We prepared a Collections Management Policy that was then reviewed and approved by our Board of Directors, and are making physical changes to better align our practices with museum industry standards.
Plans for a Research Room
At our March 2025 Board meeting, members of the American Legion Post 309, led by Arthur Ober, presented our Organization with a generous donation. Plans have begun to convert one of the museum rooms into a research room. While it is still only in the "concept" stage, we do know that it will—in some form—carry the names of Helen Pike and Emily Pike to honor the wishes of Post 309.
